closet DIY / part 1 "waiting to reimagine a space isn't easy"

Do you remember our multi-room reshuffle project? We completed the reshuffle portion in the fall of 2022 but held off on the DIY closet transformation part. At the time, we were uncertain about our careers and whether a geographical move was in our near future. If that happened, we didn't want to invest time and money into a project we wouldn't get to enjoy. After weathering different opportunities for two years, we finally determined that staying put for at least a few more years made the most sense for our family.

After being left in DIY limbo, the walk-in closet (above, between the window seat and built-in) finally got its purposeful design makeover!

That decision made doing the DIY in 2024 a no-brainer! The labor-intensive part was done in December, and now I’ve got a canvas to paint and hang to finish it off. Our kids have been waiting SOOO patiently for this transformation to happen and I'm beyond excited to reveal how we reimagined it very soon!

For now, here's a look at the photo progression of this walk-in closet, which I highly recommend doing for any tweak, big or small, you want to make in your interior space. Capturing the different stages lets you see the transformation unfold and is just a beautiful way to embrace the progress YOU are making in your home journey.

The multiple uses of our walk-in closet, from hanging our daughter's clothes to keeping books, dress-up costumes, and other random stuff.

what new purpose came from this closet DIY?

Any guesses on how we reimagined this space? I'd love to read your ideas in the Comments below! Stay tuned for the before and after reveal!

Always,

jds
