March was a crazy overwhelming month. We said goodbye to our girls' swim season and team, and hello to the city we're moving to in June (!). Our trip out there brought up a zillion questions and emotions, and our return home raised even more. There's so much to comprehend and as much to prepare to move (selling your first home is stressful!), but as the last few weeks flew by, I realized none of what needs to happen can when something on your mind keeps holding you back.

For me, it's this canvas project, the one I struggled to start last year. I got into painting it in February, but March threw me for a loop. Slowly, I could tell I was in that ripple rut, where something needs to get addressed (finish painting) in order to move on to the bigger task at hand (get our house market ready!). Our home is about to be photographed, not once but twice, and I so want this canvas to part of it...part of our first home journey. Setting the photography dates was the nudge and accountability I needed to get back on it.
I spent the better part of yesterday painting the background. Along the way, my girls kept saying, "Mommy, it looks so good!". It was the sweet encouragement I needed. For me, painting is very much a "go with the flow" activity. I don't have a technique or learned skills. I honestly go with what I feel looking at it. Mixing and layering colors until it starts looking like the vision in my mind.

Here's how the canvas turned out...

Worth every bit of effort and patience. Just elated to finally be FINISHED!!! I can't wait for it to be completely dry and finally hung in our closet DIY. The closet before and after reveal will be coming to you soon!
Always,
